Editing a verse you already checked or aligned
When you change a verse that has check decisions or alignments, tC4 flags them for review. Nothing is deleted.
Checks and alignments are tied to the exact words of a verse, so when those words change tC4 marks what may no longer fit.
Steps
- Change a verse in Translate that you already checked or aligned.
- Go to Check and open the checking tool. A notice at the top says how many decisions need review.

- Click the Invalid filter to see those items, and decide each one again.
- Open Align for the verse. Words you changed are back in the word bank. Place them and click ✓ Mark valid again.

Good to know
- A check decision whose words changed becomes Invalid. It is kept, not deleted.
- In Align, links to the words you didn't change are kept. The verse shows as to do again.
- A link stays on the word it was placed on, even if you add or remove words before it. If you delete a linked word, its link goes too.
- If you change a word that comes more than once, and tC4 can't tell which copy you kept, the verse is flagged for review. Open it in Align, check the links, and click ✓ Mark valid again.
- A verse that needs review shows a notice at the top of the verse in Align and is marked in the verse list.
- Making or breaking a verse span has the same effect on those verses.
- A checking tool may reopen at the item you were on. Use the Invalid filter to find every item that needs review.
